Konami is usually known for it’s hard hitting arcade classic titles like Metal GearCastlevania, or Dance Dance Revolution. However there is one that you probably haven’t heard of that is coming on strong: Monster Retsuden Oreca Battle and Dragon Collection.

Monster Retsuden Oreca Battle and Dragon Collection are getting their own animated series that started on April 7th 2014.   Both of these kid-friendly RPGs have a big following in Japan, but they also have a little gimmick to get the kids to play. Players get physical character cards that, as they become more powerful in-game, they become physically better as well. They do this by printing a card for the player right after the game.  What a great treat to be able to play your favorite game and then get a trading card that shows your stats after each play.

One of the things that make these cards so great are they are personalized.  Since the games started in March of 2012 they have become very popular with having over 50 million cards printed last year alone.

The cabinets of the games are quite unique and lend themselves to the game perfectly.  With the Oreca game the cabinet is shaped like a chest and it shoots out cards after each play.

The game Orcea Battle is based of the myth of Pandora’s box and the monster box is actually called Pandora.  Our hero finds that this box allows him to call real monsters into the game play and use his ledgendary monsters to defeat the great evil that stands before them.

The second game/ tv show is called Dragon Collection which will focus on a regular kid that has fallen into the alternate world of Dragon Earth. He’s forced to become a Dracolle Battler to summon monsters in a quest for a legendary treasure, making friends as he goes.

Both games offer a lot of fun for the players and trading cards have always been a big draw for the kids of all ages so I am sure that these games are going to be a huge hit in any arcade.
